Discover Endless Possibilities with the Nation's Blind

The American Action Fund for Blind Children and Adults' 2025/2026 Braille
Readers Are Leaders Contest registration is now open. This Braille reading
contest encourages children, adults, and teachers of blind students to
practice their Braille skills, read their favorite books, and promote the
love of reading. There will be badges, prizes, and fun along the way.

With support from the National Federation of the Blind, the contest
officially starts on December 1, 2025, and runs through January 16, 2026.

Believe to Achieve

Your blind child can have the life they want and the life you want for them.

"Our job is to train our children to be the best possible people they can
be, to pass on to them values of honesty and responsibility. Blindness does
not need to change any of our expectations for our children. Whether it is
taking notes or taking out the trash, the blind can do it too." - Bonnie
Peterson

With the holidays coming up, remember to involve your blind children in the
preparation of festivities. Allowing them to help, prepare, and learn
holiday rituals will build their confidence. We encourage you to read
