Important Update Regarding Your November PAC Contribution

We appreciate you being a Pre-Authorized Contribution (PAC) donor to the
National Federation of the Blind. This email is to inform you about a recent
unexpected disruption to our donation system. Please read the following
information completely.

A Secure Change in Systems

For several years we securely kept our recurring donor payment data,
including PAC donors, in our financial system, Sage Intacct. Earlier this
year, Sage Intacct made a business decision and for compliance reasons they
are no longer keeping donor credit card or bank account information in their
system or sending the data to our processor.

The financial system created a recurring monthly invoice that triggered the
system to compile and send a file of payment data to our processor, which
then processed the transaction for your monthly donation. We understood this
system would remain in place until December 15; however, last week we
realized the link between the two systems was severed around November 7, and
payment data was removed from the front end of the financial system.

Please rest assured, your payment information is secure, but this means that
if your donation was scheduled to be processed after November 7, it didn't
happen. On Friday, November 21, Sage Intacct securely transferred your
payment information to Stripe, a payment processor that processes both
credit card and bank account transactions. We are working with Stripe as
they import the encrypted file into our Stripe account where we will manage
your payment data going forward.

Sage Intacct will continue to generate a recurring monthly invoice, but now
it will send a trigger to Stripe to process the payment; the payment outcome
will then be reported to Sage Intacct. The 360-degree data flow will reduce
the workload on our accounting staff; however, getting to this final outcome
is not as smooth as we hoped.

November and December Contributions

Though we planned not to interrupt your contributions, that plan did not
work. Once payment data is imported into our Stripe account, we will review
and test the data after which we will start processing monthly donations
again. When we can, our plan is to process in early December the missed
November donations.

If processing two donations in December is not convenient for you, please
send an email to PAC at nfb.org
<https://nfb.org/civicrm/mailing/url?u=41047&qid=11998902> with your name
and let us know not to process your November donation and confirm we can
process your December donation. Finally, once your data is imported into our
Stripe account, you may receive an email notification from Stripe.

They will automatically reach out to anyone for whom we have an email
address. Their communication is to make sure you know your personal
identification information is now being securely housed in their system.
Please contact Bridgid Burke at bburke at nfb.org
<https://nfb.org/civicrm/mailing/url?u=41048&qid=11998902> with any
questions or concerns.
