Hello NFB of Ohio!
I am very pleased to announce that HB 374, our prescription labeling bill has now been introduced to the insurance committee in Ohio’s House of Representatives. Yesterday, representatives Sigrist and Abrams offered sponsor testimony before the committee. On the surface, it seem to be well received. So, now it will be time for all of us to be ready to get to work. In the next few weeks, and possibly with very little notice, the committee will be looking for proponent testimony on this bill. Testimony can be both in person and in writing. So, please be prepared to do what you can to help this very important Bill get past. In his sponsor testimony representative Seacrest specifically mentions the national Federation of the blind of Ohio as being in support. So all of us should be very proud of the fact that we have gotten it this far. But there is still a long way to go. Please watch your inbox for notices and be ready to act.
Now let’s go build the Federation and make all prescription drugs in the state of Ohio accessible!

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Everyday we raise the expectations of blind people because we know that low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want, blindness is not what holds you back.
