As the seasons shift and the days grow shorter, many blind parents face
unique emotional and mental health challenges. Join us for a warm and
welcoming conversation hosted by Chair Masquenada Douglas and Co-Chair
Ivory Thomas, as we explore how Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) affects
blind families—and how we can support one another through it.

 Special Guest Speaker: Genevieve Hernandez, Licensed Psychotherapist
We’re honored to welcome Genevieve Hernandez, a seasoned psychotherapist
serving families in Florida and Georgia. With deep expertise in
disability-inclusive care and family dynamics, Genevieve will share
practical strategies for maintaining emotional well-being while navigating
the demands of parenting during the winter months. Her compassionate,
evidence-based insights will empower you to care for yourself while showing
up fully for your loved ones.

Whether you’re a blind parent, grandparent, foster or adoptive parent—or
simply someone who supports blind families—you’re invited to join us.
Membership in the National Federation of the Blind is not required.
