I figured I’d share something that happened yesterday. So we all know that Uber drivers are notorious for discrimination against people with disabilities especially if you have a service animal. And most of you are probably aware that the US government (DOJ) has opened a lawsuit against Uber. Well they’re actually following up on complaints received. I had a nice conversation with a DOJ attorney yesterday about an Uber denial that left me stranded with my guide dog in Denver. She wanted more information. Funny thing was this was from October of 2024 that I filed the complaint! I have been hesitant to use Uber because of such denials making me miss appointments and such. But I think it’s great that the DOJ has picked up the case and are following up on complaints received. So just a heads up, if you have ever filed a DOJ complaint against Uber be on the lookout for a Washington DC phone number because it’s probably not spam!
Have a great weekend and stay safe everyone!
