Subject: [Diabetes-Talk] Focus Group for Accessibility of Future Glucose
Monitors

Attention Blind and Low Vision Diabetics:

The National Federation of the Blind is gathering data about the
accessibility of glucose monitors by the blind and low-vision
population to develop policy recommendations to improve the
accessibility of future glucose monitors, as well as other home-use
medical devices.

We are seeking five to seven individuals to participate in a focus
group to test our online survey for question relevance, clarity, and
usability before its broader dissemination. Members of the focus
group will be selected based on basic demographics and
diabetes-related characteristics to obtain a representative sample of
glucose monitor users. If you are interested in participating as a
focus group member, please send Stacie Dubnow at
<mailto:sdubnow at nfb.org>sdubnow at nfb.org an email responding to the
questions below. Each selected focus group member will receive a $20
Amazon gift card.

Focus Group Screening Questions:

1. What are your first and last names?
2. What is your date of birth?
3. What is your gender?
4. Do you have type 1 or type 2 diabetes?
5. How many years have you had diabetes?
6. What type of glucose monitor do you use?
7. Do you use speech or large print to access your glucose meter?
8. What type of computer screen access software do you use?

Thank you.

Anil
