Greetings Ohio DAN,
I hope that you will be willing to participate in this research project.
These young ladies gave a presentation at National Convention in the DAN
session and it was very interesting. Knowing that this research is performed
in Ohio is a catalyst for our involvement. Please read the previous message.
Thank you,
Walter

Hi all,
I wanted to take a minute and share some of my team's research findings and
invite you to participate in ongoing research.
About 1 in 5 blind and low vision people have diabetes.

We found that people who could read braille and used a cane or guide dog had
less distress from managing diabetes with blindness. There was no difference
in distress between people who were blind from birth and people who had
vision loss later in life. You can read more about these results and more in
this article.

These findings were interesting, but they also lead to many more questions
about how blindness skills and characteristics are associated with diabetes
self-management. That brings us to our current study. We have engaged 147
people who are blind/low vision and have diabetes. We need 53 more people to
be able to start looking at the data. We would like to invite you to
participate by clicking on the following link.

The survey typically takes no longer than 10 minutes to complete. You will
receive a $10 e-gift card for completing the survey.
Thank you for your time and attention! Thanks to many of you for
participating in our current and past research!
Sincerely,
