[OhioDAN-Talk] Ohio DAN December 18 Division meeting minutes

Diabetes Action Network Meeting, for December 18, 2023.

 

DAN meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM, by President, Walter Mitchell.
Although a roll call wasn't taken, we did have a quorum.

 

A moment of silence took place, where each member had an opportunity to
share their prayer requests and/or overall concerns.

 

Vice President, Joanne Williams gave a warm welcoming, thanking everybody
for attending this meeting. So we can educate, empower, and inspire
one-another.

 

Under nominating committee report.

Elections took place, which we could not conduct at the 77th annual NFB of
Ohio State Convention, due to other Federation business taking place.

For board position 2. Delcenia Brown was nominated by acclamation. Which was
moved by Colleen Roth, and seconded by Wilbert Turner.

For board position 3. Annette Lutz was nominated by acclamation. Which was
moved by Colleen Roth, and seconded by Wilbert Turner.

 

Under Membership report, Committee Chairman, David Perry gave the following
report.

David has reached out to Tonia, but still needs to follow up.

 

President, Walter Mitchell gave an encouraging Presidential report.
Congratulating each member for a job well done. Mr. President Mitchell
encouraged everyone to continue doing great work, as we continue to make a
difference within our community. Everyone is encouraged to make suggestions,
Mr. Mitchell stated. For those who are not working as hard as others are
encouraged to participate more, so that DAN can continue doing effective
work for blind people dealing with diabetes.

 

Under the Secretaries report, President Mitchell expressed a need to have an
Interim Secretary to replace the current Secretary, Akila Kade, until the
2024 NFB Ohio Convention. David Perry, Membership Chairman has agreed to
accept this position, for one year, to complete Akila's term. Amber Woods
has moved to table the discussion, and Delcenia Brown seconded the motion.
The motion passed.

 

Treasurers report has been tabled until future meeting.

 

Under committee reports.

 

Delcenia Brown gave the technology report. Talking about our Facebook page,
and encouraging people to mute themselves, whenever presentations are given.
Zoom is our method of technology and communication, Delcenia stated.

 

Remaining committee reports will be presented at a future meeting.
