Hello,

Below is the minutes from the March DAN meeting, to be discussed at our May meeting. Please review these minutes prior to the May meeting, then we will answer any questions before we vote. I’m also happy to answer questions, and make corrections before hand.

The Diabetes Action Network of Ohio meeting was called to order, by President Joanne Williams, on March 10, 2025, at 6:30. All in attendance had an opportunity to discuss prayerconcerns, then a silent prayer took place. The following members in attendance are as follows. Joanne Williams, Delcenia Brown, Colleen Roth, David Perry, Tammy McCray, Linda Blufard, Michelle Gulley,  Billy Graham, Annett Lutz, Wilbert Turner, Frankie Jones, Amber Woods, Karen Finn, Beth Shwendalman, Richard Payne, Stacy Lee, Pat McFearsin, and Shirley Patterson.

Two guest speakers shared their life experiences, as to how they manage diabetes without medication, along with proper diet and exercise. Wilbert Turner spoke to us about how to independently monitor blood sugars. Delcenia facilitated these great presentations.

David Perry Gabe the  Secretaries report, which was distributed by email. Annett Lutz moved that the report be accepted, and Delcenia seconded the motion. The secretary’s report passed.

Coleen Roth gave the Treasurers report.
Before Convention,  $1,695.41.
Beginning balance, $1,805.41.
Dues, $360.
Ending balance, $1,945.41.
The treasurer’s report was moved by Delcenia Brown, and seconded by David Perry. The motion passed.

Committee Reports.

Fund Raising. A popcorn fund raiser will take place, during the month of September. After much discussion between the Fund Raising Committee , and the general membership. Discussing then voting on which  fund raiser will take place. The fund raising ideas included, tastefully simple, and Ohio Lottery. Leaving Popcorn through Double Goods, the top favorite. More will be discussed at the May meeting.

The Knowledge Is Sweet will take place, May 16 and 17, at the Jernigan Institute in Baltimore. Amber Woods will be representing DAN.

The Columbus Seminar will take place, April 14 and 15. Legislative training will take place on the 14th, and everyone in attendance will be visiting members of the Ohio General Assembly on the 15th. Delcenia will be representing DAN. The Devision assisted Delcenia with $150 towards the Seminar.

The Diabetes Action Network of Ohio meeting stood adjourned at 8:20.
