Here’s a rough draft of the January 12 DAN meeting.

The Diabetes Action Network of Ohio held our January 12 meeting by Zoom. The meeting was called to order by President Joanne Williams at 6:30 PM. All in attendance are as follows.
Joanne Williams, Delcenia Brown, Colleen Roth, David Perry, Richard Payne, Suzanne Turner, Wonda Sloan, Frankie Jones, and Pat McPherson.

Everyone had an opportunity to share their prayer requests, and a few of our DAN members shared their requests with the Devision. Keeping all of our members and friends in prayer.

David Perry read the Secretaries report, which was an in-person meeting, held at the Windham Garden West Lake Hotel, on November 8, 2025.
Colleen Roth moved that the report to be accepted, and Wonda Sloan seconded the motion. There motion passed with one correction. Michael Shresta, our presenter at our Convention is a Pharmacist for a local health clinic in Cleveland.

The Treasurers report was given.  Colleen Roth shared, she gets her bank statements in print once a month, and the bank statements every three months in Braille. Colleen made a deposit to DAN of $296, $170 dues collected, $120 Fund Raiser, as of December 8, 2025.
A beginning and ending balance will be given at the March meeting.
Delcenia Brown moved for this report to be tabled until the March meeting, and David Perry seconded the motion. The motion passed.

Wilbert Turner, Devision Board Member was unable to attend this meeting, so the Fund Raising report was tabled until the March meeting. Delcenia Brown moved for the Fund Raising report to be tabled, and Colleen Roth seconded the motion. The motion passed.

President Joanne Williams entertained a discussion, discovering ways of encouraging more people to attend meetings. Also discussed ways of making meetings more informative and educational. So members are finding ways of reaching out to medical professionals and DAN at the National level, to share with us, how to properly manage diabetes.

Suzanne Turner and Richard Payne spoke to us about updating our Devision membership into a membership portal for record keeping purposes, at the NFB national level. Also, we were informed, the National Convention will take place, July 3rd through the 8th, in Austin Texas. The State Convention will take place, November 5th through the 8th, in Dayton Ohio. People can go ahead and register for the National Convention, by going to, NFB.org, for more information.

The next DAN meeting will take place, Monday, March 9, at 6:30; PM, on this NFB of  Ohio Zoom platform.

This meeting was adjourned at 7:45.
