Dear Enterprising Women in Business Community:

This Sunday, our nation celebrates Juneteenth – a day of freedom and pride
previously celebrated by African Americans and now celebrated by all
Americans on June 19th.

The entire team at the Office of Women’s Business Ownership works hard
daily at the U.S. Small Business Administration to ensure equity in access
to all our resources for all communities, and from day one, this has been a
priority of the Biden-Harris Administration and SBA Administrator Isabella
Casillas Guzman, the highest-ranking Latina in the Biden-Harris cabinet.

Earlier this year, we were honored to announce the first WBC to open in the
historic Greenwood District in Tulsa, OK. Last month, we announced the
selection of five new Women’s Business Centers (WBCs) operated by
established Minority Serving Institutions around the country – an
announcement that tripled the number of WBCs located in Historically Black
Colleges and Universities.

These are just a few of the things that we have done and will continue to
do to support access to opportunities and resources for all American
communities.

Achievements to Support Historically Disadvantaged Communities

Juneteenth National Independence Day is a federal holiday commemorating the
emancipation of enslaved Black Americans. The day was recognized as a
federal holiday on June 17, 2021, when President Joe Biden signed the
Juneteenth National Independence Day Act into law.

The Office of Women’s Business Ownership (OWBO) is proud to celebrate
Juneteenth.  OWBO works daily to embody the Biden-Harris Administration’s
focus on equity in access to resources for historically disadvantaged
communities. Here are a few of the many demonstrated achievements to
support Black women entrepreneurs.

is a critical ally in helping build trust within key communities and
introducing small business owners to critical resources to bolster their
