Thank you for this update.  I am happy that we were able to work around different activity schedules and find an open time slot on Monday, October 22nd.  I will do my best to make it to HACC for our Capital Area Chapter Gathering.

Thank you for this information. I really couldn't tell from the descriptions what these groups involve, and I appreciate you sharing this with all of us.

On the CILCP calendar of events, it looks like the following Monday, October 22, is open. I have called my HACC contact and have gotten the date changed to October 22. This is good because we will have our next Chapter meeting the Saturday before, October 20.

So, everyone, it looks like our Capital Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of Pennsylvania Meet the Blind Month activity will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 22 at the Cooper Student Union building on the Harrisburg HACC campus.

Please let me know if you can help with the setting up, running, and/or clean up of the information table.

I am a member of the Wheels in Motion Advocacy Group that meets at the CILCP and there is at least one other person who is blind that regularly attends our Advocacy Meetings.  The Health & Wellness Meeting from 10:00 to 12:00 on October 15th is a Q&A Session that does affect People with Blindness and other Vision-Related Issues.  I am definitely interested in being present for the Capital City Area Chapter Gathering at HACC, but as a member of the CILCP Wheels in Motion Advocacy Group, I believe that I also need to be present for these two events.  Please let me know if there are changes to re-schedule our time at HACC.

Thank you for this information. As a chapter, we hoped to have our Meet the Blind Month event on October 15 because it is White Cane Awareness Day.  However, if there are conflicts with that day, we can try to reschedule it.

I checked out the organization, and they are having two events on October 15. One is titled "PA Health & Wellness Informative Session" and the other is "Wheels in Motion Advocacy Group “Rollin’ For Results”" I have attached a file which includes descriptions of each activity.

Neither of these activities focuses on blindness, so I'm not sure how much of a conflict there would be. If there are conflicts, we will want to reschedule at HACC as soon as possible.

Capital Chapter members: do either of these CILC events create a conflict for you attending a Meet the Blind Month/White Cane Awareness Day activity in Harrisburg on October 15? Please let me know so that we can reschedule if necessary.

Dear Capital Chapter members,

We will be holding a meet the blind month this October fifteenth at the
Cooper Student Union at the Harrisburg Area Community College (the
Harrisburg campus) from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. We plan to hand out
candy-coated pretzels as miniature white canes because October 15 is White
Cane Awareness Day. We will also have NFB literature, such as Kernel books
and Braille cards, to distribute to help educate HACC students about
blindness and the NFB. We are looking for people to help set up, run, and
clean up the table. Please let me know if anyone would like to help.
