Chapter members,

Please find attached AND set forth below (in case the attachment is not
working on the listserv) the information I mentioned in today's meeting
about background checks. Please note that these are absolutely free if you
are a volunteer. Please also note that both of the first two background
checks are required. The third check is required ONLY if you have lived
outside of Pennsylvania within the past ten years. Even if you're not
planning to go into a school, it's not a bad idea to get the background
just in case.

Background checks for NFB BELL Academy in Harrisburg PA Child Abuse
background check

·       No fee for volunteers (that’s you!)

·       Must create an individual account and then sign in to make the
request

PA Criminal Background check—for unpaid volunteers only

·       No fee for volunteers (that’s you!)

·       https://epatch.state.pa.us/TandCVolunteerAction.do?


ONLY if you have lived outside of Pennsylvania in the past 10 years:

·       FBI check with fingerprints

·       Fee is $22.70 (NFB of PA will reimburse if this is necessary)

·       You will need to go to a site for the fingerprinting and bring an
acceptable form of identification
