I hope everyone is doing well as things gradually start opening up.

We will be meeting via Zoom on Saturday the 20th at 10. 
We will be discussing the virtual national convention which will be taking place from July 14-18. 
If you would like to participate, you must register by EOD tomorrow, as it closes then. 
You may do so at

In our meeting, we will discuss donating to the TenBroek, White Cane, Sun, and Jernigan funds.
The TenBroek fund is for the national office in Baltimore, White Cane is for NFB publications and media, Sun is essentially an emergency/rainy day fund, and Jernigan is for sending first-timers to the 2021 national convention, in this case. 

I also want to make sure that everyone has membership coins, especially those who joined the chapter recently. 
If you do not have one, please let me know. 
From my understanding, there is also a new member packet that you should receive via the mail, as well as a series of weekly e-mails directed to new members. 
I did not know that this was the case until a couple weeks ago, but I want to make sure that those who have not received the aforementioned materials receive them.

-Tim shared that he?s having trouble getting information on voting accessibility for the blind in Cumberland County. He was told that there are many new people & they are trying to figure it out. Hopefully by the national Election in November.

-National Convention July14-18
-Registration now closed but many general session meetings will be accessible by computer or phone.
-Zoom will be the platform for the meetings
-the Convention agenda should be available in the next few days online. There is currently a brief outline version online.
-lots of effort has been made to make events run smoothly. There are considerations for time zone differences. There may be some glitches but hopefully all will be worked out.
-Jason encourages everyone to attend as many sessions as possible as valuable information and important resources will be shared
-if you?re out & about you can still participate by dialing in on your phone
-Nic Spohn our scholarship winner will be recording his speech to play at convention
-there may be a PA caucus meeting but that is still to be determined
-there was discussion about our Capital Chapter possibly getting together during convention at Jason?s to listen to a general session and maybe ordering pizza. Jason will send out a survey to the chapter to see who is interested in participating.
-Jason will contact Carlton to discuss chapter contributions to Pembrook Fund, White Cane Fund & Sun Fund during convention
-no chapter meeting in July due to overlap with convention
-next meeting August 19 at 10am

Hi all, 
As some of us discussed in our meeting last weekend, I proposed the idea of some of us getting together on Sat July 18 to listen to the banquet. 
Obviously, there's no pressure if you are not able to or comfortable. 
I would be happy to host at my apartment, in less someone else would rather host. 
Was thinking I would order pizza and those in attendance could either chip in, or we could use some of our chapter funds if we would rather go that route. 
I still have a bunch of paper plates and plastic silverware that belong to the chapter, as leftover from state convention. 
Also have a nice speaker for hearing the banquet loud and clear.

I appreciate any thoughts that you may have.
Please let me know if you may be open to this. 
I don't want to overcrowd the place, but thinking probably no more than eight people total, including myself. 
The banquet is the final highlight of the convention, so I am encouraging all of you to listen in, even if you are not able to attend.

I think it?s very kind of you to offer your apartment for a get together Jason! It sounds like a great idea to spend time together during convention! I?m definitely in! I look forward to seeing whoever can make it! Only thing that would change my attending is if virus numbers start going up again locally and we need to go back to a stricter quarantine. I sure hope that doesn?t happen!

?Sorry about missing the meeting last Saturday.?I have a closed circuit TV available. It was given to me becausethe state couldn't fix it. So I fixed it and it is available.Contact me at (717)697-5278 for the details.?The price is right FREE.?I now own a new electronic device that I can wear like glasses.?I also plan to purchase one of the new portable closed circuit TVs for my work bench.?Hopefully someone can use this older equipment.?I also have a very old closed circuit TV if anyone would like it.?This was one of the first models back in the very early 70s. I picked it up from a surplus sale and?put a vidicon tube in the camera to make it work. That one I would have to test as I have not used it in years.?Everybody take care and enjoy the day.?
