PA Capitol Chapter Minutes from February 18 meeting
Members of the Federation in Attendance which includes chapter members:
Affiliate President Lynn Sites, chapter President Rachel Hudson, chapter VP Veronica Quinn treasurer Jason, Carole, Joan, Christine, and Guest speaker Sanho Steele-Louchart
Call to order:
The meeting was called to order at 07:30 PM and the meeting adjourned at at 09:02 PM
Rachel lead with the NFB pledge which members recited along with her.She is going to distribute the pledge to everyone.
Treasurers Report:
Jason reported that Hillary is the only payed member of the chapter at this point in time. Pay-Pal payments will be will be added through the affiliate.
Secretaries report:
Dates amended for National Convention to reflect July 3rd to July 8th 2026.
Veronica clarified that she nominated herself for Vice President.
The Secretaries report was approved as amended.
New Business:
Rachel played the Presidential Release 557.
Affilliate Updates”
Lynn reported that the Great Gathering Inn held virtually do to snow. The Congressional meetings were mostly moved to virtual which had lower attendance. Scott Perry did not participate.
Scholarship deadline is March 31st 2026 for National Scholarship.
National Convention July 3rd to 8th in Austin Texas. Jernigan scholarship for assistance to attend national convention deadline to apply is April 15th. If you are applying contact Lynn to let her know so she can write a letter on your behalf.Also if you are not a first time attendee to the National Convention there is assistance through the affiliate board. Contact Lynn for more information. State convention is going to be held November 5th-8th 2026 at the Hershee Lodge in Hershee Pennsylvania. Lynn spoke about Tim and his situation and that CYS/ABC issue may violate Tim’s rights. Contact was made with representative McNeill, file complaints for February 9th removal. Raffle tickets are available if you need any contact Lynn, Veronica, or Rachel. Veronica made a motion to except the affiliate reporting the motion passed.
Guest Speaker:
Sanho spoke on self-care, advocacy fatigue, and stress management. He encouraged finding personal coping strategies and offered support.
New Business:
PAC contribution increased from $5 to $10 monthly.
The Guide Dog Division is restarting for more information contact Veronica.
Ellie needs a seizure service dog.
