Spring, 2009.

Greetings to all members. It has been a while since a news update has been released. The division has been working on our ongoing projects and preparing for this year's convention in Detroit. We have a full schedule of things to do this year.

On Sunday, July 5 at 1PM, we have our annual division meeting. At this meeting we will present drafts of some of the songs that will be on the "Music of the Movement" album. We have gotten allot of work done and we will discuss the track list, and listen to some samples. We will also hear about a Media Company who is looking for blind performing artists. You will hear about how this media company works, and how you can get involved. Do not miss this year's meeting. You never know what else may happen. Membership dues are $5, and you can pay it at the door or you can go to our website at http://www.padnfb.org and click on "Memberships and Donations" and pay your dues there.

For the first time, the division will be running a "Guitar Seminar". In this seminar, we will discuss all aspects of playing the guitar, and everything related to it. If you have always been interested in this instrument, you should be at this meeting. Monday, July 6 at 6:30PM. Your host will be Cameron Strife. Mr. Strife has been a musician for 15 years, and he is a guitar teacher as well. Don't miss it. The seminar is $5.

Once again, we will have our showcase of talent. Tuesday, July 7 at 7PM. You do not want to miss this year's talent show, or you may miss out on some cool door prizes. Anybody can sign up. You can sign up at our table in the exhibit hall, or by contacting our division secretary, Beth Allred. The talent show is $5, and all talent show proceeds goes to our scholarship fund.

Speaking of our scholarship fund, help us meet our goal. The Mary Anne Parks Performing Arts Scholarship is for blind students pursuing a college degree in a performing arts related field. We are half way to our goal of awarding our first scholarship. Once we meet our goal, we will be able to award the scholarship at our 2010 convention, witch will coincide with the performing arts 10 year anniversary. Help make 2010 a year to remember by helping us in 2009.

Our fund raising table will be up, and you can buy albums, participate in raffles, and you may find other interesting things to buy.

We are currently raising money for our scholarship fund, Music of the Movement, performing arts subsidies, and other projects. In 2007 we released "Sound and Site Volume 1" and Volume 2 is in our future. The money you donate will lead to Volume 2 down the road.

If you have any questions, or want the division to address any issue, feel free to contact us. www.padnfb.org perform at padnfb.org and 917-903-5650
