Hello David and everyone,
The quality of the Sound and Sight Recording passes muster here. Given
the number of recording engineers and audio folks in the division there's no
reason why the Talent Show should have been recorded from the audience
although the audio was somewhat better. For God sakes I hope next year you
guys will hit the "Bull's Eye" where recording the talent show is concerned.
I know there are some issues with patching in to the hotel sound system
and they need addressing by our national leadership and the national office.
If I can fly my sound system to the convention facility and back there's no
reason why folks in this division couldn't have done the same! And it's a
good thing I brought the entire rig to Orlando as some of the rooms in which
convention events I recorded took place didn't have sound systems. Not only
was I able to record the event but provided a pa system for the room in
which it was being held. I believe we can do better than that in the future.
