[Perform-talk] utube problems

Hello everyone,
I'm rather disturbed that some NFB affiliates use uTube for displaying
audio and video content on their Web sites particularly video material when
they should be placing this content directly on the server that hosts their
Web site. Placing this content on a service like uTube should be done in
addition to and should not be used as a primary place to host it. The
national office does not do this. Our state and local affiliates should
follow that example.
Another problem I've seen with uTube is their adds that appear when you
go to access content. Some of them are quite obnoxious to say the least. An
organization of our caliber should not use hosting services that displays
inappropriate and sometimes disgusting advertisements causing us to lose
potential members and supporters. This is just a word to the wise if your
student affiliate is considering hosting videos on their Web sites. All the
best.
