hi Kevin and list

I spoke with Marion Gwizdala who suggested I join the Performtalk list.
He said you, and this list might be able to assist me.

I am learning to play the dulcimer. My instructor is awesome and has
helped me to become very familiar with my dulcimer despite my being
unable to read music or see much of hand movements. I play songs and
cords using all the strings. We are now considering ways for me to read
music to assist with learning new songs. From my contact with other
blind musicians I gather it is efficient/better/easier to learn by ear
which I am doing now. I record songs on my iPad for replay, but I can't
adjust the speed and rewinding is difficult and not practicable. There
are tons of iPad/iPhone apps out there, but I have know idea what ones
work well with voiceover. I have not had success finding readible music
on my computer (Window eyes) or my ipad. I am learning grade 2 Braille,
but I'm a long time away from being able to take the Braille music
course from Hadley.

I'm hoping you can suggest strategies for learning music using my iPad
or otherwise?

Thanks for your help/input.
