[Perform-Talk] Musical influences

Great discussion!

I love all types of music. My absolute favorite is Queen!

I grew up in the eighties and nineties, so I listened to Michael and Janet
Jackson, Prince, Madonna, The Bangles etc...then in the nineties there was
Mariah Carey (up til 1997 then I didn't like her music after that), Celine
Dion, Sheryl Crow, Hootie & The Blowfish, Alanis Morrissette, The
Cranberries...

Then there was music I liked afterwards, but I started listening to classic
rock and country...In my opinion, pop music just started sounding too fake
to me...synthesizers and electronic instruments instead of real ones.

I started singing when I was really young...never had any lessons or
anything just comes naturally to me. I did a few talent shows in school and
did a lot of karaoke...I was even offered a record deal once in FL, but I
was a senior in high school and thought I should finish, so I turned it
down.

Hi. Yes, I studied the British invasion groups as well as delta blues
and Chicago blues etc in college and I think it is very interesting
that American blues went overseas and was interpreted by the British
groups and then exported back to the USA. That also helped a lot of
American blues artists have a whole second career due to renewed
interest.
