Hi Masha and All:
     When I was at the Wisconsin School for the Blind and Visually Impaired,
they had a piece of carpet that ran along the front of the stage, maybe a
foot or so wide.  My senior year we put on The Best Christmas Pageant Ever
and my parents were very impressed, saying that, if a person didn't know the
students were all blind/visually impaired, you would never have realized it.
Not sure if this helps anyone or not, but thought I'd put it out there.
