This Weekend is the bay area international Deaf dance festival. this is a
series of free workshops and performances all on zoom. There will be
workshops all weekend as well as several performances by Deaf artists from
several different countries. this Sunday at 5 PM Pacific they will have a
family matinee that will have audio description by Gravity Access Services.
Here is the link below for information to get free tickets from event
bright. All performances will have captions and spoken English. Saturday’s
performance will have spoken Spanish as well. Sunday’s performance will
have audio description for blind and low vision attendees. The captioning
will also have high contrast. All shows will feature American Sign
Language, Venezuelan sign language, Spanish sign language and international
Blind and low vision attendees are encouraged to sign in on zoom at 4:30 PM
this Sunday the 16th to get any preshow information and make sure they know
how to access the audio description track on their zoom account as each
user will have to set this up themselves before the show starts. After
attendees register for the 5 PM performance on Sunday the 16th they will
receive a zoom link to sign into for the event. To access the audio
description track users will need to navigate to the more button and click
there to then find language translation. There will then be a secondary
language track which should be titled English but we will confirm this the
day of the performance. Zoom does not allow for audio description to be
chosen as a language. With this feature turned on users will then have the
option to hear the original track audio with the spoken English as well as
the audio description track simultaneously.
There will be access consultants in attendance to help with any
accessibility questions regarding setting up these features for attendees.
Please spread the word and share this amazing work.
