[Perform-Talk] Technical Question:).

Hi Satauna,
I understand what you are saying--any new Software will create a learning curve and advocacy can be tiring.
Sandra, to answer your question, Pozotron is not a *requirement* per se, just something that I am considering as an option if it could benefit me as a narrator.
Thanks,
Annie

Hi, Annie,

I don't personally use Pozotron but I'm aware of what it is and what it does. For me it's a question of where is my focus. While I can see the benefit for audiobook or eLearning scripts, I've done this long enough to have a process in place and to have a strong sense of how many mistakes I'm going to make. I also know that no matter how well-proofed something is, someone can always find something to change, and no software is perfect.

Add to this the learning curve, which will be more substantial for me than for a sighted person. Then there's the continuous discussion with the company about accessibility because there are bound to be some issues. I assure you I've heard over and over again from platforms/companies how "interested" they are in my feedback, but implementation is another matter entirely. It took me over 18 months to get Voice123 to label the "send" button on their message page. Now I can finally send messages to clients through the platform without having to call Aira. And that was literally ONE button.

I practice and value advocacy, but at the end of the day that is not what I get paid to do, so I have to choose who gets my attention. Pozotron simply hasn't been on my list. Maybe you'll get it done and that would be great for everyone.

I would say this: the software is going to offer corrections, but it doesn’t do the editing for you. I would advise anyone looking into this software to be sure they are comfortable editing and proofing their own work WITHOUT Pozotron before adding it to the process.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Hey everybody!

I’m curious if anyone has had experience with Pozotron—it is a software that audio book narrators usefor proofing, editing, ETC. It’s not a recording Software. Since I recently joined the Audio Publisher’s Association, this is the first I’ve heard of this Software and I think it has great potential based on a conversation I had with a colleague. (Much to my relief, they seem 100 percent on-board with making it more accessible if it is not. It mightjust be a question of learning the hotkeys for JAWS and NVDA.) In fact, I wonder if other voice actors and/or audio describers have used Pozotron for similar purposes?)

>From what I have gathered, it has been in existence since 2017, I have found some tutorials on YouTube; however, they are not screenreader specific. I’m still on the lookout for those😊.

I appreciate any tips & tricks you might have.

Thank you😊.

Annie
