Dear Seyoon,

Marion (He/his/him) here! I have a focusrite Scarlet 2I2 interface and a Blue Bird condenser mic I use for all my recording. I am looking for a new mic for recording my guitar but the Blue Bird is a pretty good vocal mic for both spoken word and singing. I purchase the two as a pair for about $300 in 2018. You will likely be able to find a package similar to this, as they seem to be readily available.

Peace!
Marion

I got a Sanson Q2U which is both XLR or USB, so there’s flexibility on that. I guess I’m leaning towards something where I can thread multiple audio input sources.

Thanks,

I understand you produce a podcast, but do you mostly record alone or do you have remote guests often? Do you expect to record your episodes live or will you be putting them together later inside a DAW? Also, do you have a budget in mind?

Preferably models with USB-C but no big deal otherwise since I have plenty of adapters. Some of you may know that I’m the voice and a producer of the NABS Now podcast for our amazing National Association of Blind Students.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.
