Hi everybody,

As some of you may know, I serve on the accessibility committee of the Audio Publishers’ Association, and one of our goals is to insure the organization’s website is completely accessible.

I think we have a long way to go from a screen-reader user’s perspective. If any of you would be willing to take a few minutes to browse the site, I am very interested in what thoughts you have.

The first thing I notice, for instance, is the pop-up that prompts you to optionally use the site in screenreader mode. To my understanding, screenreader mode doesn’t really do anything. (Wondering how I might phrase this in a clearer manner and elaborate?)

The process of registering for events, finding members, ETC. I feel could be cleaned up. Here is the link for reference:

https://www.audiopub.org/

In testing, what I would suggest is: Try to search for me in the members directory. (I am listed as Annie Donnellon).

Try to register for an event, but do not save your information.

Thank you in advance for whatever insight you may have. This will help the committee make necessary changes—the more perspectives we can gather the better😊.

Sincerely,

Annie
