Hello there, PAD members!

Have you ever asked for your audition sides to be made available in an accessible format, only to be met with confusion or dismissal? Have you heard the tension in the air when you informed a choir director or conductor you will be requiring braille music? Do you still struggle with explaining to stage managers what you need to be safe in order to make entrances and exits? Have you ever just been too exhausted from navigating all of this to have the energy to take the choreographer aside to request a moment to learn the dance steps? Have you ever thought about going to school for performing arts, but feel as though you might not know the right way to speak up for yourself in that setting? Join us on Sunday, March 16th at 8PM Eastern/5PM Pacific on ZOOM to have all of your self-advocacy questions discussed by a panel of division board members. The panel will consist of:

Multi-instrumentalist, digital accessibility specialist and well-rounded advocate Dezman Jackson

Classical violinist and student at Harvard University and New England Conservatory, Julia La Grand

Consistently cast musical theatre performer with a wealth of experience, Ciera Theriot

Reggie Herbert, your division vice-president, will moderate and contribute to the discussion. Reggie is the founder of A Quantum Dream, a small non-profit theatre company and arts accessibility and advocacy organization. He plays in several bands and holds and MFA in theatre.

To ensure we are able to delve deeply into what concerns our membership the most, we invite you to submit questions beginning immediately. After March 15th, the deadline will be closed. Please email questions you have about how to become a better advocate for yourself and others to nfbpad at gmail.com<mailto:nfbpad at gmail.com> . We can't wait to hear from you!
