Subject: Online event - 18th September - Performing in the BBC Proms as a
Blind Musician
Hi all,
I just wanted to highlight this presentation and Q&A tomorrow, which I'm
hoping will be of interest to some of you!
Performing in the BBC Proms as a Blind Musician. Recorder player James
Risdon will speak about his recent experience of performing with
Paraorchestra and The Breath at the BBC Proms.
During the session, James will share:
- How he went about the process of learning parts to 12 new songs
- How he combined using braille music and audio to learn his parts
- His experiences of navigating rehearsals in a large-scale orchestra
- The support Paraorchestra gives musicians with visual impairment
- And of course, his experience of performing in the proms itself…
The session starts at 19:00 BST. More information and register for free
