<html><head><meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"></head><body dir="auto">Yeah, I play two custom made mouth pieces one sounds bright, and the other not as bright, so more warm and intimate sounding, and then I have a few minutes to choose from a straight, mute, a cup mute, a Harmon, mute, and I believe a plunger, mute to name a few. since I have a Bell’s palsy embouchure, since 13 years old due to a vaccine nation, I had, which is why I won’t get vaccinated for anything because of a weak gene in my body, I have had to adapt my own playing, and while I may not be able to reach certain notes, I do my very best with what I have, and I have a great mentor who made these mouthpieces for himself that have A great fit to my mouth in the way that I play the trumpet whereas if I were to go with major brands like Bach or Yamaha or Carol brass manufactured mouthpieces, I’m going to have a difficult time with it, so I only have two custom mouthpieces that work very well for me, and I’m not going back to using Bach mouthpieces ever again. I am going to try to look for my video set. I did at the 51st Concord Jazz Festival. That was a dream come true for me even though it was virtual. I think this is it it’s a video and the last song has a sepia tone of me it’s Misty my signature tune. I’ve played it so many ways. I will also share a link of me and my former band Pla playing the same song, misty, but in a waltz style, which is my favorite way of playing it by far the best in my opinion.<div>Here is the jazz festival I partook in at least my portion, which, by the way I recorded myself I did the video it was kind of hard to do because it was trial and error. He wrote it and saying it, and gave me the general idea of how to play the trumpet part so you’ll hear him humming and somewhat whistling sometimes in the bridge and he’ll try to sound like a trumpet. He’s come very close to it but I also do the mouth trumpet. I actually have a Recording of us doing a song and I’m actually doing the mouth trumpet in the middle of it. My next busking experience was last Thursday! Tampa has an </span><br><span></span><br><span>entertainment district much like the French Quarter of New Orleans called Ybor (pronounced "E-bore")City.</span><br><span></span><br><span>Ybor has more than 80 bars in about a 10 square block area and you </span><br><span></span><br><span>can find any style of music and lifestyle there. I didn't do quite as </span><br><span></span><br><span>well then, coming home with $31.50! I learned a few lessons from this </span><br><span></span><br><span>experience and want to share them with anyone who is busking or who </span><br><span></span><br><span>is interested in busking, too.</span><br><span></span><br><span></span><br><span></span><br><span></span><br><span></span><br><span></span><br><span></span><br><span> Unsure of how I would be received or, more accurately, </span><br><span></span><br><span>if I was going to be told by law enforcement to move on, I kept it very simple.</span><br><span></span><br><span>All I took was my guitar and a tip jar. Put a rock or some other </span><br><span></span><br><span>heavy object in the bottom to keep the jar from blowing away, too! </span><br><span></span><br><span>You can also put some flour or sand in a zip lock baggie to make it </span><br><span></span><br><span>bottom-heavy! I feed my tip jar with $10 - two singles folded </span><br><span></span><br><span>together, three singles folded together, and one $5.00 bill.</span><br><span></span><br><span>I face the $5.00 bill open and facing outward so it can be seen. </span><br><span></span><br><span>Again, this is a subtle subliminal message to your audience of the </span><br><span></span><br><span>type of tip to give.</span><br><span></span><br><span>When I perform in bars, I always have my business cards near my tip </span><br><span></span><br><span>jar and make a few announcements about tipping the wait staff and the </span><br><span></span><br><span>musician. One of the funny ways I use to solicit tips is to say, "You </span><br><span></span><br><span>may not know this about me but I collect pictures of dead presidents, </span><br><span></span><br><span>like Washington, Lincoln, and Jackson. One of my favorite presidents is Benjamin franklin!"</span><br><span></span><br><span>(I have gotten several $100 tips in the past! I also say, "As you </span><br><span></span><br><span>give a tip, take a card!" One thing I have learned from my years of </span><br><span></span><br><span>performing is to put my cards near my tip jar.
