Georgia is establishing a Unit for providing Blindness Rehabilitation
services.   Currently there are several jobs for VR Counselors for the
Blind, and Unit managers for Blindness services.  Please help me identify
qualified individuals for these jobs.  Please circulate this information.  I

Job Title: Rehabilitation Unit Manager

Location of Vacancy: Blind Services - Metro-Atlanta Region

Duties & Responsibilities: Under limited supervision, manages a team of
professional and para-professional rehabilitation providers who assist
individuals who are blind or visually impaired prepare for or return to work
in the Vocational Rehabilitation Blind Services Unit. Provides leadership,
coaching, and information to the team in determining eligibility,
appropriate services, and identification of expected employment outcomes.
Implements quality assurance standards in the team process. Supervises and
participates in the development, marketing, and advocacy of services to both
potential clients and employers. Administers budget and other activities of
the unit. Working occasional evenings and weekends is required. Travel and
use of your personal vehicle is required. This position will cover the
Metro-Atlanta Region.

Entry Qualifications: Two years of experience as a Certified Rehabilitation
Counselor OR Bachelor s degree in a related area AND Two years of
supervisory experience in a human service delivery program OR Master s
degree AND One year of supervisory experience in a human service delivery
program OR Related certification AND One year of supervisory experience in a
human service delivery program

Preferred Qualifications:
Current certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor by the
Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) AND Three (3)
years of professional experience as a Rehabilitation Counselor which
includes one year of supervisory experience in a human service delivery
program and two years of professional experience working in the field of
blindness or related certification (COMS, CVRT, CLVT). OR Master s Degree in
Rehabilitation Counseling, Counseling or Counseling related field (Counselor
Education, School Guidance Counseling, Community Counseling, Counseling
Psychology, etc.) AND Three (3) years of professional experience as a
Rehabilitation Counselor which includes one year of supervisory experience
in a human service delivery program and two years of professional experience
working in the field of of blindness or related certification (COMS, CVRT,
CLVT). Note: It is the requirement of the person filling this position to
obtain/maintain Certification from the Commission on Rehabilitation
Counselor Certification (CRCC).

Duties & Responsibilities: The Certified Rehabilitation Counselor for the
Blind provides job counseling and rehabilitative services to individuals who
are blind or visually impaired in order to help them prepare for or return
to employment. Duties include making eligibility determinations, authorizing
and coordinating rehabilitation services and developing work plans,
providing vocational counseling rehabilitative assessment and placement of
individuals with disabilities. Also serves as a liaison and resource to
employers and community organizations regarding opportunities and
considerations related to hiring individuals with disabilities.

Entry Qualifications: Master s degree in education, counseling,
rehabilitation counseling or a closely related field AND Two years of
professional experience in social work, counseling or equivalent areas OR
Bachelors degree and Two years of related experience OR One year at the
SSP061 level or position equivalent. Note: Successful completion of
Internship will be deemed equivalent as two year's of professional
experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Current certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) by the
Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (applicants who meet
this qualification, if selected, will be appointed at a pay grade 14) OR
Eligibility for Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) Certification which
requires a Master s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Counseling or
Counseling related field (Counselor Education, School Guidance Counseling,
Community Counseling, Counseling Psychology, etc.) (applicants who meet this
qualification, if selected, will be appointed to the Provisional
Rehabilitation Counselor level at a pay grade 13) OR Interns who are within
12 weeks of graduation from a regionally accredited Master's Rehabilitation
Counseling Program (applicants who meet this qualification, if selected,
will be appointed to the Provisional Rehabilitation Counselor level at pay
grade 13)AND One year of professional experience working in the field of
blindness or related certification (COMS, CVRT, CLVT). Note: It is the
requirement of the person filling this position to obtain/maintain
Certification from the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification
(CRCC).

Applicants that previously applied are still in consideration and need not

for CRC Certification. Individuals will be required to produce a certificate
from CRC to verify certification. The ability to travel, experience using
