The 9th biennial Getting In Touch With Literacy Conference is coming to Southern California next week!

 November 12-15, 2009
The Hilton/Costa Mesa, California

Calling all transcribers ....
There will be a focus group conducted by Robin L. Wetzel, PhD. on Thursday, November 12, 4:30-6:00 pm prior to the conference.
 There is no fee for participating ... 
Dr. Wetzel is conducting research for BANA regarding literary braille and the NUBS component (Nemeth Unified Braille System). She needs input from transcribers! If you are planning on attending the GITWL conference, now is your chance to have your voices heard! 
If you are not planning on attending the conference, you will still be able to participate in this focus group and have your voices heard!
Please let me know if you are interested in attending this group so I can let Dr. Wetzel know how many handouts to have prepared.

Please join us for this international event focusing on literacy for individuals with visual impairments of all ages and developmental levels. This is your opportunity to learn practical solutions to better serve individuals who are blind, visually impaired or deaf-blind. 

GITWL '09 will focus on all forms of literacy, including print, braille, auditory, tactile graphics comprehension and the use of assistive technology. Presentations will address the needs of a range of ages and all levels of ability, including conventional and functional literacy.
