Natalie,
Good point
If the info is data driven--not written, it will project onto a computer and kids can access it
The written portion is still an issue unless low vision and then monitor size can improve on that--for totally blind--not so much right now

Denise:
It has been my understanding that the software that comes with Interactive White Boards (IWBs) is not accessible (i.e. Promethean’s software). Has that changed or was I mistaken? Or are you just talking about being able to access PowerPoints and web content that is displayed on these boards when the boards are being used more as projectors than IWBs?

Thanks for sharing this information as it is quite helpful!

Denise

The smart board can be hooked to a laptop with JAWS--any tech should be able to hook it up easily for you--just like hooking any hardware up to it

Does anyone have any information on how a smartboard can be accessed by a non visual learner.  Is there any technology that allows a computer to speak what is on the board and to interact with it.  Thanks.
