Hi:

Although, I am a certified teacher of the blind and visually impaired and will be working with students who are blind or visually impaired with additional disabilities and will be  observed for 30 hours this school year, I am trying to to use my expertise in reading and writing Braille and the nemeth code. If I do get requested to teach the literary Braille code or the nemeth code to a blind student I would relish the challenge.  Can anyone tell me the process to become a certified braille transcriber and proofreader? Most importantly though, does anyone know the average salary a braille transcriber and proofreader can make? Do  most braille transcribers work as a volunteers and do not get paid?
