The Braille Authority of North America has not yet established a timeline for implementation, at least not that they have released publicly. My advice is to teach him the code as you normally would. This is because there will still be an abundance of reading material in the current system, and UEB will doubtless be gradually implemented once the timelines have been established. At least that is the most logical progression in my humble opinion. I hope that helps.
