[Pibe-division] Teaching Braille to Student with Limited Hand Use

You can use a Unimanual Perkins if there is adequate strength in one hand, or you can go with an electronic device such as a Mountbatten even other notetakers. I worked with a student in seventh grade who also had CP and minimum use of one hand, and he was learning to use a braille note in one-handed mode. It makes for one extra step with writing, but it is definitely doable. In truth, the braille display actually helped him tremendously, as it was easy for him to track the few cells it afforded at a time. I hope this helps.

Also, if the limitations in her functional hand is too severe, braille is not easily accessible. I have yet to come across a method for this, but if you find anything, please pass it on.

How do you teach someone with limited hand use Braille? I was considering use the one-handed Perkins brailler for writing, but I'm not sure she has the hand strength nor the coordination for putting paper into the machine. I have using a VoiceNote in one hand mode so far. Any additional suggestions would be most ehlpful.
