[Pibe-division] Braille instruction

OOD's argument is they will only pay the cost of a training program in
Ohio. One agency does offer a training program that lasts 3 months. We are
fighting OOD on this right now. Not everyone can go away to a training
center for 6 to 9 months but it should be an option for those who choose to
do it. The training an individual can receive from an NFB training center
or one of the state centers that uses the NFB philosophy is invaluable. I
know what the website says and I know what they do. We are definitely
working with OOD and they have asked us to come up with some suggestions of
how Braille training can be provided. At this time only one of the private
agencies for the blind provides Braille training in the home. Most agencies
don't even offer Braille instruction and another agency offers Braille
instruction at the office once a week. We want to work to make things
better in Ohio.
