We are pleased to announce that the National Braille Association will be heading to Orlando, Florida, for our 2017 professional development conference.  Known as The City Beautiful, Orlando is a perfect destination for mixing professional growth with family vacation!  From the magic of sunrise colors painting the sky to the Magic Kingdom, Orlando shimmers with the promise of adventure. Catch a panoramic view of Central Florida from a hot air balloon;  enjoy the  natural, tranquil beauty of the Harry P. Leu Botanical Gardens;  swim with Florida's population of West Indian Manatees at Crystal River;  visit the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, home to the largest collection of Tiffany glass in the world;  spend some time exploring the world-famous Disney theme parks--Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Animal Kingdom. We are very pleased to once again be offering a three-day Braille Boot Camp.  This popular workshop provides an introduction to the basics of braille with a focus on learning to read braille visually. No previous knowledge of braille is required. The three days will be divided into six separate workshop sessions. Each session builds on the concepts covered in the previous sessions.  In addition, we are excited to be offering  24 workshops including:

*        Music: Music Braille FUNdamentals

*        Mathematics:  Nemeth Within UEB Context - Parts I & II

*        Formats: Spotlight the Differences Between 2011 and 2016

*        Using UEB in Technical Materials

*        Computer Assisted Transcription

*        Tactile Graphics

*         Toolbox for VI Teachers, Para-Professionals, and Transcribers
