Hi, I have both an Apex, and an I phone, and while
I use them together and it is awesome, I also use them apart. I had a problem
with my adapter for the apex and have been able to do just fine with my laptop
and Iphone and am quite happy with it. Sarah it is quite negative for you to say
there no asp for blind people. The following aps work with voice over and work
for many purposes. I can use the alarm, calendar, note taking, voice memos,
weather, money identifier, clocks and timers, a few games, email, tenting,
Internet as if the site works for others on Iphones voice over reads it,
Facebook, paypal, and several more. So to say there are not aps for blind people
is nuts. I also have the color identifier and while it isn't perfect I still
have a 3g and plan to get the 4s once my business is reopened in my new town.
I'm also interested in the ap that will read documents but haven't got it. O I
also use navagon it works in that I can get directions, phone numbers, websites,
and more.

style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial; FONT-SIZE: 10pt">Below is my opinion about note
taking. To my knowledge the ipad and the iphone do not
have many apps for blind users. It's true that aph rerreshabraille costs
$1,800 with 18 cells. But Freedom Scientific sells a braille display that
can be connected to the computer, but you would need to ask about connecting
the braille display for hte iphone for $1,3395 with 20 cells of refreshable
braille. Regarding purchasing a note taker or using a braille display with
the iphone is a personal choice. I do not have the desire to use an iphone
since the voiceover feature andand the need to tap to use the
touch screen do not appeal to me. I also use my note
taker for personal and professional use and prefer to
store information in braille rather than in prprint. Freedom Scientific has
great technical support and I do not see the need for me to get a Iphone or
Ipad. I am ok using a computer with a braille display attached to write up
professional documents and a note taker to store confidential information on
in braille. Each person has different needs, so one option does not fit each
person's needs.
