style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial">The PDRIB fulfills two primary missions: to prepare
professionals to work in the field of rehabilitation and education with
innovative knowledge about blindness; and to conduct research which clarifies
and deepens the understanding about blindness and the best practices for
promoting education, employment, and independence for individuals who are blind
or have low vision. The PDRIB is a small, grant-based research and training
institute within the <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">College</st1:PlaceType> of
<st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Education</st1:PlaceName> at <st1:PlaceName
w:st="on">Louisiana</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceName
w:st="on">Tech</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType
w:st="on">University</st1:PlaceType>, located in <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City
w:st="on">Ruston</st1:City>, <st1:State
w:st="on">Louisiana</st1:State></st1:place>. The work of the Institute occurs on
