<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#1F497D">I agree that asking the students to complete the ACT/SAT during school hours can be detrimental. However, particularly for those who, due to a variety of factors, may require significant extended time, doing
 so in one Saturday session might not prove feasible. I think there are also clearly instances in which the school day is used because that is what is convenient to the teacher/reader. It truly should be an individualized decision. I’m not sure if any districts
 have administered portions of an exam before and/or after school, but that might be something worth investigating if Saturday is not conducive.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Thank you for all the responses.  A school was asking if there was a set standard/protocol for this and that is why I asked. Seems like it happens a little differently everywhere.
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Since the ACT is not a graduation requirement, and all other students have to take it on a Saturday, why do our students miss hours and hours of classroom instructional time to do it during the school day? That is what happens here, but
 doesn’t seem right for our kids to miss so much class time. <o:p></o:p></p>
