<p class="MsoNormal">I agree regarding the teaching of cancellation/regrouping indicators. They need to know how to read the same, but not necessarily use them. For students who have difficulty keeping numbers in their heads, one strategy that works for some
is to use a manipulative (e.g., marble, small plastic block) as a reminder. It can be kept near them when engaging in addition/subtraction, and generally, students using this method do so less and less with practice. Braille Rocks!<span style="font-size:11.0pt"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
