Linda:

Yes. The KNFB Reader Classic (the first version of the Reader that ran on a
PDA) had what is known as a "Field of View Report" which told one whether
all the page was in view of the camera and, if not, which direction ran out
of the camera's view. The KNFB Reader Mobile (which runs on quite a number
of cellphones) uses the tilt censors in the phone to tell one when one has
the phone so that the camera is exactly pointing at the document. The new
software from AI Squared doesn't have such capacity yet though there's no
reason why it couldn't have.

Hi Mike,

I will definitely check out the two web sites. Thank you very, very much.

I actually want the bar code reader for recognizing things I have at home,
rather than when shopping. I was told it should read the ingredients as
well.

I wonder how blind people work with the fifteen hundred dollar KNFB reader?
Is there something different about the application that helps a totally
blind person focus on the page better?
