Hello all,
I received the below request from National Braille Press.
Please reply to Brian Mac Donald directly with your suggestions for survey
questions as well as any thoughts or opinions you have on unmet needs that
technology can address.
Thanks.

Subject: NBP Request
Importance: High
Hi Amy,
As discussed earlier today, NBP founded the Center for Braille Innovation
to leverage emerging technologies for the future of braille, tactile
graphics and other opportunities that are beneficial. While NBP is braille
centric, we are interested in getting feedback from our customers and the
greater blindness community about their ideas and perspective for any
products or needs that technology may solve. The range can be broad. For
example, the B2G that we are launching soon, is a high tech refreshable
braille computer with optional voice and data capability. We are also
launching in late March a simple, low tech, mechanical braille caliper for
accurate measurements.
The challenges we see are that many people may not know what is possible
with technology. Can you help us reach out to VIBUG, NFB-MA and NFB
National to see if people can think of appropriate survey questions that may
help trigger questions for people, or ask questions about possible unmet
needs? Any ideas directly from these committees would also be appreciated.
Let me know if there are any questions to clarify this request. Any survey
questions or ideas can be sent directly to me at bmacdonald at nbp.org and my
contact information is below. Thanks in advance for helping to reach out to
your contacts for me.
Sincerely,
Brian
