[Promotion-technology] Project R2R building new reel-to-reel tape machine

Hello Colleagues:

     I thought this might be of interest to those of us who remember
reel-to-reel tapes. With the upsurge in analog formats, maybe someone will
take another look at the Edison hill and dale system for records. For those
of you who don't know, Edison's recording system used a groove with the
recording information recorded vertically with the bottom of the grove going
up and down. Other formats used a horizontal system for moving the
needle/stylus. This is the way records are currently made. Much effort was
made years ago to figure out how to keep the stylus aligned at the same
angle regardless of it's position on the record. Wishing everyone many good
