[Quietcars] Facts about Hybrids.

Agreed. That's what brought me to this list, but there is an abundance of
misinformation and bad feelings that have been generated throughout this
whole process. I am a car nut. I have a mobility assistant with four legs
as opposed to a being a white stick. However, I have to be aware of what
I'm doing at all times, and I don't expect that the public will always do
so, although they should when they have the privilege of driving. It would
make my life easier if cars, including hybrids, made a little bit more
noise, and in doing so, we may give a little up in terms of noise pollution
and the environment, but we'll all benefit.

Thanks, Deb.

Though many blind people and others are deeply concerned about the problems
posed by silently-operating vehicles, most of us appreciate the value of new
"green" technologies. We can all benefit from cleaner air and less
dependence on fossil fuels. We all need to do our share to reduce
greenhouse gases. Adding a reasonable degree of sound to quiet vehicles to
help protect pedestrians and cyclists is entirely compatible with supporting
the development and proliferation of vehicles using new technologies.

Debbie
