Mr. Stewart,

What you suggest sounds similar in concept to the practice of cloze pinning baseball cards onto a bike in such a way that they would clack off the spokes of the weal as you peddled.  This was popular for boys to do to there bikes when my parents were little back in the late 40's and early 50's
