FUNDING ANNOUNCEMENT. The FY 2010 Research Fellowship (84.133F-1) published in the Federal Register - Tuesday, December 1, 2009.
The Research Fellowship is the only NIDRR program that provides grant awards for individual researchers (as opposed to institutions). Both new and experienced researchers are eligible to submit applications under this program. The awards are given annually.
There are 2 levels of funding: Merit and Distinguished. Merit awards, at $65,000 for each award, are for researchers with less than 7 years of research experience. Distinguished awards, at $75,000 for each award, are for researchers with 7 or more years of research experience, and who have a terminal degree in their field of study. The award is for a 12-month period, and requires full- time commitment. Itemized budgets and justifications are not required.
The closing date for application submission is Monday, February 1, 2010.

Announcements) or directly from the Federal Register at http://edocket.access.gpo.gov/2009/E9-28758.htm
The grant application package is available online at http://www.ed.gov/programs/resfel/applicant.html
You must submit your application electronically through the e-Application system. http://e-grants.ed.gov. Register in e-Application to access the application package. If you are a new user, you will need to register to use e-Application. From the e-Grants Portal Page http://e-grants.ed.gov/, click on the Continue button and click the Register button on the right side of the next page. Select the e-Application module and click the Next button. Please provide the requested information. Your e-Grants password will be sent to the e-mail address you provide. Once you receive the e-mail, enter your username and password and click the Login button.
