Hello,

Attached is an opportunity for interested persons to apply to serve as peer reviewers for the NIDRR RRTC on Blindness. We here at LA Tech are competing for this grant, so this would be an excellent opportunity to try to level the playing field a little bit. Please pass this on to anyone who you think would be interested. The information is pasted below, but is also attached so you can respond directly to the competition manager.
Hello,

NIDRR is seeking expert peer reviewers for an upcoming competition for a Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (RRTC) on Employment Outcomes for Individuals who are Blind or Visually Impaired (CDFA 84.133B-6) . The competition dates are September 1-3, 2010 and will be held via teleconference. Reviewers will not be required to come to Washington, D.C. for this review. Reviewers will read and evaluate applications prior to the review date, and then participate in the competition itself for three full days.

A PDF version of the FY 2010 Grant Application Package for this competition is available at http://www2.ed.gov/programs/rrtc/2010-133b-6.pdf, and both Word and PDF versions are available at http://www2.ed.gov/programs/rrtc/applicant.html#84133b-6. The Grant Application Package includes details about the specific content of this RRTC competition. If you experience any difficulties accessing these materials, please let me know.

If you would like to be considered for participation in this review panel, please send me an updated copy of your resume along with a brief statement describing your areas of expertise. NIDRR needs reviewers with strong research and methodological backgrounds who also have expertise in areas related to employment outcomes for individuals who blind or visually impaired. We seek a diverse group and encourage all interested parties to participate.

Please feel free to pass this notice along to anyone you think might be qualified for the panel. Thank you very much for your consideration, and I look forward to hearing from you and others who might be interested.

Please also copy Zakiya Pettit on your response, at ZPettit at seiservices.com. Zakiya works with Synergy, NIDRR’s contractor on this review.

Many thanks,
