We are recruiting for a Rehab Teacher/Dorm Supervisor at our Orientation Center located in Alamogordo, NM.  The position is titled Health Educator because the Rehab Teacher job title is not available within State Personnel Office guidelines.  This position is responsible for coordinating learning activities in the dorm, as well as supervising dorm staff and managing the dormitory function. - Salary: The salary range for this position is $30,534-$54,308 per year ($14.68-$26.11 per hour). Offered salary will be based on education and experience.  This position may be eligible for Supervisory Pay.

- Purpose of Position: This position will provide ongoing vocational rehabilitation student training coordinated with Center classroom curriculum.  Supervise dormitory staff and students at the New Mexico Commission for the Blind's Orientation Center in Alamogordo.
- Duties Include: Duties of this position include but are not limited to:
-- Preparing work schedules for dorm staff
-- Purchasing food and other supplies
-- Preparing menus for all student meals
-- Maintaining a safe and clean environment
-- Coordinating CARF accreditation.
- Educational requirements: A Bachelor's Degree in Education, Rehabilitation, Health or Management is required for this position.

- Experience: Five (5) years experience in Supervision, Training, Independent Living Teaching and/or in Special Education is required for this position.

- Working Environment: Work is performed in an office setting in Alamogordo with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some weekends
and evening work is required.  Occasional overnight travel required.  Ability to
lift up to 50lbs.
