POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Access TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTOR
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Access Technology Team Leader
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None
EXEMPT POSITION: Not subject to Federal & State
overtime laws
Job duties/ Responsibilities
· Train clients in one on one and group settings to use Microsoft
Windows, Office applications, and internet browsers using screen reading and
screen magnification software.
· Modify curriculum to meet individual training objectives.
· Track client progress using a goal oriented approach
* Install, configure, and maintain Windows systems, networked
printers, and other hardware devices.
* Provide desktop support to staff and clients by Responding to
service requests regarding Microsoft office use, user accounts, network
connectivity, printing and other technical issues in a timely and efficient
manner.
* Identify and recommend software and equipment to meet user needs.
· Perform other technical duties as assigned.
MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS:
· Associates Degree in Education or computer-related field.
· Two years experience teaching technology to adults
· Ability to use keyboard navigation to interact with the Windows
environment and other commonly used applications.
· Proficient in using and training in industry standard personal
computer, laptop, PDA and note-taking devices
· Excellent effective communication skills that reflect a variety of
learning styles when communicating conceptual and process related
information. Strong relationship building skills
· Ability to work autonomously with strong problem solving, critical
thinking skills
· Strong teamwork and ability to incorporate macro and micro systems
simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience teaching industry standard screen reading, magnification,
and optical character recognition software.
· Proficient in using and/or training with industry standard
electronic magnification devices, Braille displays, and other Assistive
Technology devices.
· Strong knowledge of the terminology used to describe common Windows
controls.
