Dog guide schools are interested in the orientation skills of prospective students. The input from a NOMC or COMS can help them assess how well a person might handle the responsibilities of orientation for the team. The schools do not have the time or resources to see an applicant travel extensively, and orientation is one of the crucial components of successful dog guide travel.
